This is a rare October 17th, 1938 programme (playbill) from the two-week, Provincial Tour engagement of the IVOR NOVELLO and CHRISTOPHER HASSALL musical play "CREST OF THE WAVE" at the Theatre Royal in Birmingham, England. (The Original West End production opened September 1st, 1937 at London's Theatre Royal, Drury Lane London and ran for 204 performances before going on the road.) ..... The musical starred IVOR NOVELLO as both the hero and the villain and the cast included OLIVE GILBERT, BEN PULLEN, FRED HEARNE, JOHN PALMER, RUTH MAITLAND, MARY BROMHALL, GRETA CARLISLE, FRANCES CLARE, JOHN NORRIS, ARTHUR BUDD, ROMA BEAUMONT, MINNIE RAYNER, TONY HULLEY, REG. SMITH, VINCENT McMURRAY, HARRY FERGUSSON, SYBIL DARLING, FINLAY CURRIE, DAVID BANNER and CHARLES TULLY ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) There is moderate to heavy creasing, light soiling and minor edge wear. Despite these flaws, this rare program will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
