Vintage Keuffel & Esser Paragon Engineers Transit with case an antique hardwood tripod No. 5177.

This vintage Engineers transit likely originated during the late 1970s or 1980s as indicated by both its label, product number and serial number. This is the Paragon Model No. 74-0000, an updated version of the original engineers transit.

This particular model transit was one of the last American made transits offered for sale in the United States. This model is being sold as is.

Within the wooden case you'll find various maintenance tools as well as a few aftermarket labels. One reading 'Kara Co. Inc', as well as two tags reading 'City of DeKalb.'

The sale of this vintage paragon engineers transit includes an antique Keuffel & Esser hardwood tripod. This top of the line surveyors tripod was introduced in Keuffel & Essers 1892 catalog as product number 5177. This tripod was marketed as being very strong and extremely light.
