Instrument clusters in most makes & models are very specific & differ for many reasons such as:
Grade, Engine type, Gearbox /Trans, 4x4 or 2x4, ABS & non-ABS, with VSC or without etc.
If you are unsure of compatibility, please send us a message with your vehicles VIN number
OR it's Month & year of build & as many details of the above specifics of your vehicle so we can check for you.
Not all instrument clusters will function correctly just by plugging them into a different vehicle, even if the details above are matched.
Many require top be reset or 'linked' to the vehicles other hardware via a software reset/ re-code.
Here are some examples:
-Vehicles such as VE & VF Commodores, require to me matched / linked & at this stage it is a process that only a Holden dealer can do, with the item fitted in your vehicle.
-Most European vehicles from the early 2000's onward require the clusters to be reset, but many can be done by your general mechanic as long as they have a good quality scan tool.
-Subaru clusters since the early 2000's on are part of the vehicles security system, so can only be replaced in another vehicle if it is done along with all of the security components
(eg. Engine ECU, Ignition, Key, Immobiliser ECU etc.)
So before purchasing this item, please make sure you have done you research to see what (if anything) needs to be done to allow this item to function in your vehicle & what it is going to cost you.
If you are unsure or can't find what is involved, we are more than happy to tell you or find out for you if we do not already know. We are here to help! & if we are wrong, then we are liable for the return freight & not you.
We will not however be liable in anyway if you have not done you research or asked us & will NOT compensate for extra costs involved in making a cluster function in your vehicle, because the manufacturer has made the unit in this way.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT REPLACING A CLUSTER WITH A SECOND HAND UNIT, WILL NOT MEAN THE KILOMETRES ON YOUR ODOMETER WILL CHANGE.
MANY LATE MODELS NOW STORE THE KILOMETRES ON OTHER COMPUTER BOXES IN THE
VEHICLE, SO CHANGE THE CLUSTERS & THE KM READING REMAINS THE SAME.
