First the standard sales literature that applies to all our telephone sale

Before I tell you about this wonderful telephone just a quick note about ourselves...

We have been buying/restoring/selling and collecting all manner of Antique Telephones for well over 20 years now ( this being my husbands part of the business ~ DEJA VU ANTIQUES ) you may have seen our advert in Period Living Magazine from which we have run a successful telephone mail order business from their first issue back in 1990..... which really began as an extension of our Antiques Shop and as our own personal collection of antique telephones grew far too large !!

We have a large portfolio of happy customers to include many celebrities inc a Spice Girl (who will remain un-named...) Historic Hotel renovations, we supply the BBC, ITV., major Theatre groups, have supplied the telephone for the Anadin advert and just supplied the Bletchley Park War Museum with all its telephones so please buy with confidence   

THE RESTORATION

All restoration work is done by ourselves in our onsite workshop and has been for the past 20 years.... each one being completely stripped down and renovated part by part then put back together and lovingly restored back to its former glory, converted for modern day usage and finished with a visit to our onsite polishing-shop where the grime of decades is removed and the bakelite brought back to the condition it would have been when originally installed into someones home all those years ago !!!

Please note all our photographs show the natural restored state of bakelite telephones unlike others they have not been sprayed with artificial silicone for photographic purposes   

All come complete with modern BT plug with black lead to enable you to plug in and away you go......all original microphones are tested and if they dont meet our rigorous standards are replaced but if in full working order are left in situ as there is no need to change..........we have a house full of these old telephones which are used on a daily basis and no telephone leaves here if it is not in a condition I would be happy to have in my own home....so please do buy with confidence !! 

We also carry a large stock of original dial labels should you wish to have an original or can offer a high quality reproduction which can either be left blank or we can insert your own telephone number....completely the customers choice....all part of the service and free of charge !!

A STUNNING GPO 162  SERIES BAKELITE TELEPHONE 

DATING FROM THE 1930'S

FOR A 75+ YEAR OLD GAL SHE'S CERTAINLY IN SUPER CONDITION 

MODEL ~ This model of telephone is one of my personal favourites the shape being so of the Art Deco period which is a big favourite of mine I just dont think you can beat this glorious shape...... very Miss Marple !!!

Prior to our "throw away" society these wonderful telephones were repaired and refurbished and put into someone elses home ~ a lesson in recycling we could do with taking heed of today.....

HANDSET ~ HANDSET IN WONDERFUL CONDITION WITH SUPERB CONDITION QUALITY BRAIDED HANDSET CORD ....  

DIAL ~ ORIGINAL CHROME DIAL WITH ALPHA-NUMERICAL DETAILING I.E. LETTERS 123 IN RED AND ABC IN BLACK HAILING FROM THE DAYS OF PRE NUMERICAL DIALLING CODES IE TO RING BROMSGROVE THE CODE WOULD HAVE BEEN BR 3 - can put a dial with just numbers on if that would be your choice

BASE WITH GOOD CONDITION RUBBER FEET .....

THIS PHONE WOULD MAKE AN IDEAL MODEL TO PUT IN A K6 TELEPHONE KIOSK OR SIMILAR

 *** please note the 162/200 series telephones did not originally have an integral bell as it usually came with a separate bellbox which you would sit the phone on or fix it to the skirting board but this phone has had a small bell inserted at some point in its life - if you need much louder  please see our other telephones for louder ringing models ie this version sat upon the bellbox - a gecophone which has double gong bells or any of the 300 models

All items are extremely well packed in recycled materials where possible.

Most items are quoted for 1st class delivery but if you have any particular delivery requirements such as special delivery/recorded delivery etc please request at time of purchase as this must be charged as an extra

All items to be paid in full as per payment details before any items will be despatched.....all cheques must have cleared the banking system and please note it takes SEVEN FULL WORKING DAYS for a cheque to legally clear the system also please note before sending a cheque that we live quite rural and cannot make daily trips to the bank therefore if needing an item quickly I would suggest you use paypal or postal order although a crossed postal order must also clear the banking system as if a cheque.....
