I have for sale several American Flyer S-gauge rail car trucks without a coupler extension. I've removed these from rail cars which I've converted to link coupler trucks, and probably a caboose. This truck is factory issue, not cut off by a user. This is a standard American Flyer truck. It has a small grind mark where I've cut off the mounting rivet. Details ... frame is sheet steel, sides are sintered metal, mounting hole is factory 1/8". There are several varieties of AF knuckle trucks, and this variety has the sides staked onto the frame. This design is delicate and you have to use care when removing / installing wheelsets. The boss riveted trucks are a better design. For this truck I've ensured the sides are firmly attached to the frame, all 4 wheels sit on the rails, sides are plumb to the frame. I've soft wire brush cleaned the wheelsets to remove any rim "tires" built up from dirt and oil, to remove any white crud, and to remove any axle rust (for the most part). Also visually inspected each wheelset during cleaning for any defects, flat spots, etc. I've set the gauge to 0.86", flange root to flange root.

These trucks are what I call Style 1. On each of the trucks' sides there are 2 triangular features. For Style 1 the centers of the triangular features are indented, and for Style 2 the centers of the triangular features are flat.

Purchase Options ... I can substitute zinc alloy metal wheel sets or steel metal wheel sets for the plastic wheel sets in these trucks. Zinc alloy wheel sets are $1 per truck and steel wheel sets are $2 per truck. The steel wheel sets perform much better than the zinc alloy wheel sets. If you're interested message me and we'll work out payment details for these purchase options. I would have liked to list these purchase options as "variations" on the listed item, but ebay does not permit "variations" for this item's category.
