David Philips is the author of Susan Lenox, Her Rise and Fall. Basis of the famous film of 1930 starring Greta Garbo. David Graham Phillips was born in 1867 in Madison Indiana and was murdered in 1911 on the streets of New York. He attended DePauw and then Princeton University and wrote many famous books of this period. He is remembered for Susan Lenox. and Social Secretary is a prequel to that novel.
