This custom 1929 Ford roadster pickup with a 1929-A front welded to a 1927-T rear stopped the Oakland Roadster Show in 1958 and 1959 to drive away with the coveted America's Most Beautiful Roadster trophy--a first for back-to-back victories!  This low-to-the-road rod of the future was finished with thirty coats of Pearl White lacquer and detailed with striking Kandy Cerise and gold Leaf ribbon scallops and pinstriping.  In its heyday Ala Kart made a brief appearance in Hot Rod Gang, a teenage hot-rod flick about "Crazy kids...living to a rock 'n roll beat"  And its hot bod was featured on the movie poster!

BARRIS KUSTOM:  Where Kustom is Spelled with a "K"

George and Sam Barris were miles ahead of custom car builders when they opened the Barris Kustom bodyshop in Southern California in the postwar '40s.  Their extreme designs and custom craftsmanship influenced the '50s custom car scene and earned them the title "Kings of Kustomizing".

It wasn't long before Hollywood took notice and made stars of their flamboyant cars.  After Sam passed away in 1967, George continued producing hundreds of award-winning showstoppers and fantasy movie cars more famous than the stars.  In the world of showbiz, the Barris crest is the mark of a Hollywood legend.

This replica automobile has been sculpted with finely crafted precision pieces with the same pain-staking attention to detail that made the real car famous and captures all the beauty of the full-scale car. 

This 1:64 scale die-cast metal and plastic replica has approximately 30 scale parts and real chrome-plated parts. This is a limited production piece that is no longer in production. It originally sold through Mattel as part of a four car set that was only available by mail for $120.00. The detail on this car is of the quality of a high end model but it's actually a HOT WHEELS PRECISION MODEL with a paint finish that rivals the real car, it must be seen to appreciate.
