Panasonic's SDR-S50 Camcorder (Black) is a Easy-To-Use Camera that features SD/SDHC/SDXC flash memory recording. Capture SD video footage & 640x480 still images with the help of a 1/8" CCD image sensor, 33mm wide angle lens, 78x Enhanced Optical Zoom, Advanced Optical Image Stabilization & a 2.7" LCD display.

In addition to these recording tools the camera also has features Panasonic's Intelligent Auto (iA) with AF/AE tracking for capturing clear, blur-free video of moving subjects. iA encompasses Face Detection, Advanced O.I.S., Intelligent Contrast Control & Intelligent Scene Selector. 

Flash Memory Recording:

The SDR-S50 records to removable SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards, allowing for fast and convenient transfer of video & stills.

The 1/8" CCD image sensor captures SD Video & 640x480 still images.

The 2.7" LCD gives you an accurate platform on which to compose + playback your video & still footage.

Enhanced Optical 78x Zoom takes maximum advantage of the effective CCD area, making it easy to capture a wide range of dynamic images, from sweeping landscapes with the 33mm wide-angle scope to close-ups of distant subjects with the 78x zoom, without having to worry about image degradation!

Advanced O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization) shifts a corrective lens as you shoot to help eliminate the effects of hand-shake, so you get clear, sharp shots even at high zoom levels. It's an essential feature for getting the most out of this incredible zoom lens!

The 33mm wide angle setting on the Standard Series fits more people and more of the background into the frame than a conventional model. This is especially handy when you want to take a group photo in a small room. It fits your subjects in even when you shoot from up close & makes it possible to pick up even small sounds with the mic!

iA With AF/AE Tracking:

The iA function automatically activates convenient functions during shooting. These include the AF/AE Tracking, which optimizes the focus and exposure for a selected subject to ensure beautiful results. After you "lock on" to a subject at the center of the screen by pressing the AF/AE button, the camera follows it around, keeping it in sharp focus & properly exposed. The iA function, including Face Detection, Advanced O.I.S., Intelligent Contrast Control & Intelligent Scene Selector, produces outstanding results under virtually all shooting conditions.

Panasonic's Quick Power-On feature helps capture candid shots, while also saving energy by allowing the user to keep the LCD closed & the power off when not shooting.

Long Recording Mode, which allows for double the record time as the normal record mode, is made possible by the camcorders' support of the H.264/AVC format with its higher compression ratio.

Intelligent Contrast Control, which automatically adjusts brightness to maintain the best possible contrast, has also been added to the three advanced functions from previous models, including Face Detection, Advanced O.I.S. & Intelligent Scene Selector.
