This is an antique 1838 hardcover printing of "A Bridal Gift," published by Brown and Parsons as a book of advice for Christian living for newly married women. A small volume, this book measures approximately 3" wide and 4.25" high, contains 204 pages (with gold-colored edges) of short writings by various authors, and doubles as a nice piece of antique decor for a small space. The writings offer a fantastic look at the culture of a bygone age.

The copy being offered is in fair condition overall (good for its age) and makes a great reading copy. As you can see in my first five photos, the covers have moderate wear in the form of surface & edge rub marks. Inside, the pages are crisp and rather strongly bound. Many brown stains occur throughout the book, and all pages have an antique paper smell. A few stray marks also occur, and a small amount of writing occurs inside both the front and back covers (see this in my 6th and final photos).
