contemporary of Bettie Page, Jackie Miller arrived in New York City in
the mid-'50s and soon found herself as one of the era's most popular
models. Towering at 5'11, she was no demure wisp who walked softly and
faded into the background. Instead she was determined to be seen. Her
photographs convey a woman eager to smash the conservative moral
attitudes of the day.
