The Modern Boy Magazine was a classic magazine for boys that ran 1928 to 1939 and stories and articles aimed at school-boys - some complete stories and others serials running over a number of issues. Featuring many authors, including W. E. Johns and Biggles’ tales - the stories are full of adventure, spies, school life and derring-do! These Pre-War issues are particularly interesting. Additionally, the adverts are fascinating!

In this issue:
  • I wanted Adventure! by Clifford Howe - New York City
  • Stripped for Speed! by Alfred Edgar
  • School for Kidnapped Boys! by George E Rochester
  • Black Out over London! by John Templer - Jaggers fo the Air Police
  • Biggles in Africa by Flying-Officer W. E. Johns - Biggles
  • All Out for the Record! by Sir Malcolm Campbell
  • Crashing Through to Fame - No 7 - Ginger Lees - Harry Riley Lees
  • Jim Solo The Birdman

32 pages

The magazine measures 28 x 19.5 cm

Condition: Good - the magazine is in good vintage condition, the staples have rusted, staining the pages around the staples & making the pages loose and there is evidence of reading wear with creasing to the covers and internal pages - visible in the pictures below. There is NO free gift with the magazine. Considering the magazine is approaching 90 years old, its condition is good but certainly not perfect. The magazine pictured below is the one you will receive.

I accept returns, and if you'd like to see further pictures, or any questions - just ask!
