Description:
The V-bit engraving bit is named after its V-shaped cutting edge.
It is commonly used for engraving letters and other text, as well as creating decorative designs and patterns. The depth of the cut can be adjusted by changing the angle of the V-shaped tip.
A fine-point tip cuts lettering, numbering, and designs in a variety of metals and composites, such as aluminum, fiberglass, and titanium.
Made of solid carbide, they are harder, stronger, and more wear resistant than high-speed steel and cobalt steel for the longest life and best finish on hard material.
Their extreme hardness means they are brittle, so a highly rigid setup, such as a CNC machine, is necessary to prevent the end mill from breaking.
All are center cutting, which allows plunge cuts into a surface.
Uncoated end mills are good for general purpose milling and short production runs.
Use:
(1) The woodworking cutter is designed for portable and benchtop woodworking carving machines and cannot be used on electric drills, drill presses and other machines.
(2) The cutter can produce smooth surfaces on hardwoods, softwoods, composite boards and other woods, but avoid metal materials such as copper, iron and non-wood materials such as sand and stone.
(3) Be sure to use the right size of the jacket, serious wear, not round enough and the inner hole with a taper of the jacket can not provide sufficient clamping force, will lead to vibration or twist off the tool handle and fly off.
(4) After the tool is clamped, if the tool is found to be jumping when working, it should be stopped immediately and the tool shank should be clamped several times so that the tool shank is in full contact with the collet before working.
(5) The tool shank should be in good contact with the collet, and the tool shank must be fully inserted into the collet and tightened firmly so as to provide sufficient clamping force on the tool.
Not only a small part can be inserted into the jacket, otherwise it is easy to cause the tool shank to break and cause damage to the tool.
(6) Use suitable eye and ear protection when operating.
(7) The body, clothing and other debris must not be close to the working tool.
Tool maintenance
1. Keep the tool clean, remove resin, wood chips and other dirt from the wood after use and use standard industrial solvents to clean the tool.
2. Apply a small amount of machine oil to prevent the surface of the tool from rusting, clean all stains on the handle of the tool to prevent slippage during use.
3. Do not resharpen or change the shape of the tool without permission, as every sharpening process requires professional sharpening equipment and professional sharpening skills, otherwise the edge may easily break and cause an accident.
