Autograph letter signed, 2 1/2 pages - on two conjoined sheets (both sides), 5 x 7,75 inch, personal stationery, (Munich), 18.02.1906, in German, to German composer Hermann Bischoff (1868-1936) - i.a. concerning Richard Strauss and Schillings opera `Der Moloch`, written and signed in black ink "Max Schillings", with mild browning, a horizontal mailing fold with small tears to the edges - in fine condition.In parts:"Lieber Herr Bischoff ! Ihre Symphonie steht nun auf dem Programm des Essener Festes am 1. Tag, 24. Mai. Rich. Strauss hat die Absicht das Werk zu dirigieren. Hätten Sie dagegen etwas einzuwenden? - Ich freue mich herzlich über diese Entscheidung. Wollen Sie mich einmal antelefonieren, damit wir das weitere besprechen können. Ich käme gerne selbst zu Ihnen, aber ehe die 777 Pakete u. Briefe für den A[llgemeinen] D[eutschen] M[usik]V[erein] erledigt sind muß ich Klausner sein.Vielen Dank noch für Ihren Brief, der mir sagte, daß Sie sich vom Molochtext gutes erwarten. I'd like to come to you myself, but before the 777 packages and letters for the `Allgemeine Deutscher Musikverein` are settled, I have to be a recluse.Thank you very much for your letter, which told me that you expect good things from the Moloch text. [...] I came back yesterday from Dresden, where I was able to make a part for the premiere of Moloch, [...] in Vienna, also heard `Salome` again, the 11th performance, sold out [...]"
