Tanglewood TVC Koa Evolution Exotic 2010 Electro-Acoustic Guitar

Here for sale we have a Tanglewood TVC Koa in Natural Gloss finish. Made in China in 2010, this guitar features a Koa top, back and sides, Mahogany neck, Rosewood bridge and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is equipped with an undersaddle pickup and Fishman Presys preamp with volume control, 3-band EQ, phase switch and on-board tuner. 

The Mahogany neck plays well, feeling comfortable in the hand and providing a smooth playing experience due to its gloss finish to the rear. The rather flat radius is great for fingerstyle, as well as bluesy string bends, with the Rosewood fingerboard feeling luxurious to the touch. The cutaway improves access to the upper register, and the smooth lines of the body make this a comfortable guitar to play in any position.

The Koa body gives this guitar a crisp and clear tone that is bright without being shrill. The low end is unpronounced but warm, with a controlled midrange that further aids the clarity of the tone. The instrument projects well, and offers a wide dynamic range that doesn't lose clarity at higher volumes. The Fishman Presys electronics convey the guitar's voice faithfully, with the controls making this guitar capable in a live situation.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: All aspects of the headstock show light scratching visible under direct light. The top edge of the headstock presents small chips to the lacquer and some scratching.

Neck: A small chip can be seen behind the treble side of the 3rd fret. This can be felt in the playing position.  All other aspects of the neck and fingerboard are in good condition.

Body: Chips to the top binding can be seen around the whole edge, most notably by the waist. All aspects of the body present light markings, visible under direct light. More visible scratching can be seen near the soundhole consistent with regular use. The lacquer on the bottom edge near the end pin is thin and slightly rough, likely a manufacturing defect. This cannot be seen from the front of the guitar in the playing position.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future work the new owner may wish to perform.
