About the Artist:

Luckner Lazard was born in Haiti in 1928 and began his artistic career in the late 1940s. He is known for his vibrant and colorful paintings that depict scenes from Haitian everyday life, as well as his depictions of voodu spirits and ceremonies. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout Haiti, as well as in the United States, France, and Canada. Lazard's art has been praised for its unique blend of traditional Haitian artistic styles with modern techniques, and for its ability to capture the essence of Haitian culture and spirituality. He passed away in 1998, but his legacy lives on through his art, which continues to inspire and captivate viewers around the world.
