1944 PICTUREGOER MAGAZINE Aug 5 Deanna Durbin Akim Tamiroff Robert Donat Darnell

PICTUREGOER MAGAZINE
Week Ending August 5th 1944

Picturegoer was a British magazine for film fans with wonderful cover pictures that not only informed the readers about films that were newly released but also carried articles about the stars and their lives. There are lots of photos (b&w) in the magazines. Plus the advertisements are great!

These war-time issues are particularly interesting with their edge of propaganda and advertisements for frugalness…

In this issue:
  • Cover: Linda Darnell
  • Going My Way - Bing Crosby, Barry Fitzgerald, Rise Stevens, James Brown, Jean Heather
  • Deanna Durbin
  • June Allyson, Constance Dowling, Gloria de Haven
  • The Adventures of Mark Twain - Frederic March, Alan Hale, Alexis Smith
  • Akim Tamiroff
  • Robert Donat
  • This Happy Breed

The magazine has 16 pages

Very Good: The magazine is in very good vintage condition, showing light reading wear, some light tanning to the pages due to age, and minor creasing to the covers, small tears to the bottom of the first few pages - visible in the pictures below. The staple has rusted. The magazine pictured is the one you will receive. Given the magazine is over 75 years old its condition is very good, but not perfect!

I accept returns, and if you have any questions - just ask!
