Here is a good condition copy of "DOWN EAST, The Magazine of Maine", for OCTOBER, 1966, Volume XIII , Number 4 . This magazine is still in business, with a much larger distribution now than it had back in its early years in the middle 1960s! These early issues are very hard to find nowadays.

This issue has cover artwork by Stell and Shevis,    and articles on

    The Allagash,

Steam Railroad excursion on the Canadian National RR from Portland to Vermont,

     Berwick Academy,

Confederate raider Tallahassee Attacks Calais in 1864,

    Norrigewock's Corn Factories,

Curtis Island Lighthouse in Camden harbor,

October  Scenes (with four pages of color photos),

    recent Maine news and opinions,

plus lots of vintage Maine related advertisements.

This magazine measures about 8 1/2 by 11 inches, and has 68 pages. It is in good condition, with clean pages, tight binding, and a cover that has moderate wear. Inside, this magazine looks like it was hardly read at all. Great for the diehard Maine history / memorabilia collector!

Buyer to pay media mail postage of $2.75, or priority mail postage of $4.95. Please check my other old Down East magazines, I will gladly combine multiple purchases to save you on postage. Thanks for looking!
