This display must be configured Plug N Play before it ships. Everything is included in the listing price. All parts, cables and the time to build it. A Plug N Play display simplifies the whole installation process. NO soldering is required ! Simply connect up with the attached ribbon cable and switch on. Contrast is adjusted in the normal way by holding "shift" and spinning the data jog wheel. NO modifications are required ! Nothing should be soldered or attached to the LED display. To suit every possible studio environment, I now build and ship each display fully adjustable to control backlight brightness. This is used to set the display up perfectly for the light conditions in your studio. If you use the display in a brightly lit room, the backlight can be set slightly higher, if your studio is dark, it can be dialed in lower for a better look. Shipping the display adjustable is essential. Once the brightness is set up, the potentiometer is tucked away inside. Its meant to be set once, then forgotten.

***Pls note. This plug n play display modification is being discontinued soon. It's being replaced by a new custom display. There has to be a point when i transition from the old display to the new universal display that works plug n play in everything.

This new display is universal, it works plug n play in every instrument. NO soldering or reconfiguring work is required.
For example, It's possible to buy it for one instrument, then, if required swap it into other multiple instruments, if, say, you sold equipment, purchased different equipment etc it can be easily re-used it's very flexible. The display is programmable in an analog sense. Each instrument has a program code. To switch the display from one instrument to another, you only need to know the applicable code.
Programming the display is simple, it doesn't require any tech skills. It's very basic for everyone to understand.

I've decided, to be fair to customers, they should be notified of this change well in advance. Otherwise, in the near future, I'd be shipping an old display on Monday, new one on Tuesday, and that wouldnt be fair.
Today the display went into production. factory lead time is 12-14 weeks due to covid, chip delays etc. In the meantime, I recommend, you wait for the new display if it's not urgent. The custom display is amazing, it'll arrive soon. should be around 11-18th Jan. If you need a display in the meantime, if your display is broken for example. You can order now.
Ill build and send you the standard off the shelf display. The quality is good. Problem is always, it requires modifications, its time consuming to build. New custom display, has everything built in, to enable it to work in everything, off the shelf. That's the difference. It can be configured in mins.
So, if you need a display, in the meantime, and you can't wait, order the standard one. The quality is perfectly ok. If you can wait a while, I recommend you wait for the new Multi-Mode. It has amazing functionality***
