Rubber Band Powered Flying Model Kit
Very rare vintage FROG flying model aircraft construction kit. Manufactured in England, just a few years after the Second World War, by International Model Aircraft Ltd, Tri-ang.
This rubber band powered flying model, is based on the
WWII era, P-51D MUSTANG aircraft, it was part of a range of model aircraft in the 500k series, released by FROG, this model is (CAT No.) catalogue number 505k.
I believe this kit was originally released in 1949, the model is in very good condition for it’s years, with some signs of age and related wear, it appears to be complete or there abouts, as is being sold as a collectors item for display only, (it should be in a museum) and not as a flying model to be built.
The kit includes it’s original manufacture’s hard cardboard top opening outer box, which is covered with a colour printed paper design, building instructions, three different aluminium containers complete with cork stoppers, which would’ve contained black and silver paint, plus a dope for the tissued covered sections of the aircraft, even the rubber band is still present and unbroken.
The original box is in very good condition, with some signs of age and related wear, please see pictures for details.
