Patch Text: MOWGLI

Mowgli is a fictional character and protagonist of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book stories from India. He is in additional stories as he grows older.

Rudyard Kipling was active in youth programs around 1900. He was involved with the original Scouting movement in the UK with Lord Baden-Powell and Kipling was the Commissioner. His works where used for the Wolf Cubs. In the US the BSA used it for the Cub Scouts and today it exists for the training program for adults as well as a theme basis for the ranks in Cub Scouting: Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, and Lion.

Developed by Old Baldy Council (OBC) and administered via Western Los Angeles County Council High Adventure Team (WLACC HAT). Scouts wishing to earn the program base and segments are to contact their local council HAT.

MOWGLI AWARD a.k.a. Jungle Book Award. "This award has been developed to assist Cub Leaders in promoting outdoor programs and summertime activities. The seven parts of the award are designed to augment the WOLF or BEAR Arrowhead Electives and the Webelos Activity Pin requirements.
