The cultivar Coast Redwood ‘Adpressa’ is a captivating and unique variety of Sequoia sempervirens. Characterized by its compact and dense growth habit, ‘Adpressa’ showcases lush, rich green foliage that exudes elegance. Its needles are tightly packed, creating a refined and formal appearance. These trees thrive in moist, damp, foggy environments and do well on the coast. Young trees are sensitive to frost, however after a few years they are hardy across most of the UK although easily damaged by frost.

Originally from the West coast of the USA, the Coast Redwood is in popular cultivation across the UK and Europe. As if being the tallest and oldest tree on the plant, the Coast Redwood has gained the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.

Coast Redwood ‘Adpressa’ is a unique and captivating cultivar of Sequoia sempervirens. It is distinguished by its dense and compact growth, displaying lush green and creamy white, tightly-held needles that adds an elegant touch to any landscape.

Ideal for urban gardens or smaller spaces, this variety retains the majestic qualities of its parent species while remaining well-suited to limited areas.

If left unattended, it will form a broadly conical, rather open tree that will be 4 to 6 feet (1.5 – 2m) tall after 10 years. However, if subjected to regular shearing and occasional, ‘Adpressa’ will be a fairly tight, bright white ball.We recommend keeping these staked if you want to keep the trunk straight.

Supplied in tree form with a single trunk as opposed to the bush form.

About Giant Redwoods

Sequoiadendron giganteum (giant sequoia; also known as giant redwood, Sierra redwood, Sierran redwood or Wellingtonia. The giant sequoia is listed as an endangered species by the IUCN, with fewer than 80,000 trees remaining.

Originally from America, this evergreen conifer with leaves similar to a Leylandii are in wide cultivation around the world, especially here in the UK and across Europe. Sequoiadendron giganteum has gained the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.

In the UK, we have a fantastic avenue of 218 giant sequoias that was planted in 1865 near the town of Camberley, Surrey.

Global warming is contributing to huge losses of these trees in their native regions. We must do all we can to ensure this giant survives – you can do this by purchasing one of our Giant Redwood trees and growing it on. We also have seeds for sale so you can grow your own.

About Coast Redwoods

The oldest and tallest trees in the world! The Californian evergreen redwood aka Coast Redwood aka Californian Redwood – the Sequoia sempervirens is a fast-growing, very large evergreen (where the Metasequoia is deciduous) tree forming a narrowly conical crown, with fibrous, red-brown bark.

Originally from the West coast of the USA, the Coast Redwood is in popular cultivation across the UK and Europe. As if being the tallest and oldest tree on the plant, the Coast Redwood has gained the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.

This tree can tolerate wet conditions, however they can be tender when young – protect from hard frosts until established.

About Dawn Redwoods

Metasequoia, or dawn redwoods, is a genus of fast-growing deciduous trees, one of three species of conifers known as redwoods. A native of China, however it is in wide cultivation around the world with lots of interesting cultivars such as “Golden Oji” and “Snow Flurries”.

Certain cultivars have gained the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.

Dawn redwoods are fast-growing trees, although the shortest of the redwoods, it grows to at least 165 feet (50 meters) in height.

Please note: Dawn Redwoods are deciduous - in Autumn and Winter they will lose their leaves.

Postage

For most of our deliveries we use Royal Mail 2nd Class, Evri or UPS for slightly larger orders. We ask you to allow 4-5 working days for the items to arrive, perhaps slightly longer during peak times. Our postage is included in the price you pay. "Free delivery" isn't really free - it has a cost to us as the seller, so we are trusting couriers with your orders.

We dispatch Monday - Thursday. We don't dispatch on Friday or weekends to prevent your live plants potentially being stuck in a warehouse all weekend.

We try make all our packaging compostable at home, the tape, the box and the labels. Occasionally we'll use some non-compostable tape or bags to secure your items. We post all our trees safely and securely in a cardboard box, please note sometimes we'll reuse boxes or material to save our planet.

Please be aware that any postal service can be subject to unforeseen delays beyond our control, we are also bound by the postal service guidelines for declaring an item lost which ranges from 15-60 days depending the courier service we use. If your item is delayed, please contact us through eBay, so we can help you. Please contact us before leaving any feedback as will always resolve the issue for you.
