Bull Nose Morris Van

His Master's Voice

Jack Odell, one of the founders of the Matchbox diecast company, founded Lledo (Odell backwards) in 1982, and launched the "Days Gone" range of models in 1983, taking over a market previously popularised by the Matchbox "Models of Yesteryear" series. Models produced by the Enfield-based company became popular among collectors worldwide.

After Lledo went bankrupt in 1999, the naming rights and model range were acquired by rival diecast maker Corgi. The Days Gone range was re-launched, under the brand name of "Lledo Collectibles", with a fresh logo design and new packaging style, with the manufacture being outsourced to China. The address on the bottom of the box is Corgi's Leicester base rather than the old Enfield address.

The 1926 Bull Nose Morris Van didn't appear as part of the Days Gone range until 1992, but has become a firm favourite with collectors and has appeared in numerous different variants. This one, finished in blue, bears the message "His Master's Voice", which was the famous advertising slogan for The Gramophone Company, the company in which today's HMV has its origins.

Excellent used condition. In original box, which has no serious wear, no rips or splits and no taped-up corners.  Model itself is clean and appears to be in near-mint condition. See photos - all photos show actual item.
