Vintage Handmade Linen and Lace Doily, 14" x 6.5", Flower and Leaf, Pink, Green.

I purchased this doily at an estate sale. It is homemade, likely during the 1950s-1960s based on what I found out about the maker. It is an oblong shape with sweet flower and leaf designs in a baby pink, light green, and white. The flowers are connected by twisted brown and yellow threads.  The brown thread also outlines the doily and secures the dainty white lace that adorns the edges of the doily.

The doily is 14" long and 6.5" wide. You can see in the photos that there are a couple small brown spots near one of the flower embroideries, which I think adds to the authentic vintage feel of the piece. However, it may be able to be removed if you so desire. In addition there is one small section of lace that has come unraveled, which I have also highlighted in one of the photos.

This sweet homemade piece would be the perfect accessory in a nursery, bedroom, sitting room, or kitchen. You could also use it to be displayed in a frame or to create a piece of artwork or a craft. It is absolutely lovely, and I so admire the maker's handiwork.
