Armand Heins est un artiste belge né à Gand en 1856 et décédé en 1938. Il était peintre, dessinateur, aquarelliste, graveur, lithographe, illustrateur et sculpteur. Il est le fils de l'imprimeur d'art et lithographe Jean Nicolas Heins. Il se forme à l'Académie de Gand, dirigée par Th. Canneel (1867-1879) puis se perfectionne à Paris. Après un voyage en Italie, il s'installe à Gand. Armand Heins s'est également engagé de manière intensive dans la préservation des monuments. Il a notamment réalisé des centaines de lithographies et de dessins qui ont redonné vie à la Gand médiévale, qui avait largement disparu. Il est co-fondateur de la Société des aquafortistes belges.

Armand Heins is a Belgian artist born in Ghent in 1856 and died in 1938. He was a painter, designer, watercolourist, engraver, lithographer, illustrator and sculptor. He is the son of the art printer and lithographer Jean Nicolas Heins. He trained at the Academy of Ghent, directed by Th. Canneel (1867-1879) then perfected in Paris. After a trip to Italy, he settled in Ghent. Armand Heins was also intensively involved in the preservation of monuments. In particular, he produced hundreds of lithographs and drawings that brought medieval Ghent back to life, which had largely disappeared. He is co-founder of the Society of Belgian Aquafortists.
