I’m offering today an adorable and large baby doll by Sayco Doll Company.  Circa on this doll is from the 1960's era.  I do believe it would be the early 60's.  Her head, arms, and legs are jointed, allowing you many ways to pose her.   She has a bent leg baby body, which simply means she really displays better sitting up.  This sweet baby doll has the biggest blue open and close sleep eyes ever and she is so cute!

I will start at the top of her head and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description.  Starting at the top of her head, she has dark blonde straight hair with bangs, which frame her chubby face perfectly.  I created a custom made hair band to match her expensive designer dress.  I took pale pink satin elastic ribbon and made a band to fit her head perfectly.  I then took pale pink satin ribbon and made a large bow.  Then to compliment the darker pink in her dress, I made another satin bow out of the dark pink ribbon.  I then hand stitched the two bows to the top of the elastic hair band.  By doing this, the hair bow will remain upright and securely on the dolls head.  It takes a lot of time to do this for these dolls I restore, but I like to think it's these special items that make my dolls so very, very special.

As you go down to her face, she has single brown line for eyebrows.  She has beautiful blue open and close sleep eyes, which have lots of shine to them.  She has her original eyelashes which have been spared from her previous little mommies scissors.  Sometimes, the little mommies like to cut the eyelashes and hair on their dolls, but this one was not touched.   Her eyes open and close freely when you lay her down or pick her up.  She has a dainty petite nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her precious open mouth.  Her lips are painted peachy/pink with single hole for bottle feeding.  I don't give my old dolls water, so I do not know if she tinkles or not.  I'll leave that up to her new mommy.   Her chubby baby cheeks have beautiful coloring which really enhance those beautiful blue eyes she has.  The back of her neck is hallmarked:  "Sayco Doll Corp.".  As I mentioned above, I do believe she was offered to us in the early 1960's era.

As most of you who follow me know, I pick their outfits based upon the way their faces look and what they speak to my heart.  With this precious face and large baby blue eyes, she needed to be in pink; but of course, my favorite color.  I found this expensive designer dress, which has lots of tulle netting and a large pink flower sitting in the middle front of the blouse.  The dark pink cotton blouse has elastic around the neckline which comes up high and remains on the doll securely.  I don't like it when the doll's dress falls down revealing parts of the vinyl or fabric.  Therefore, I adjust the dresses to fit the doll the way they should.  The sleeves on the dress come down to just above her elbows, which I've added elastic to keep them in place.  Sitting in the center of the bodice on the dress, is a gorgeous and large pink silk flower.  It looks so cute!  Under the flower, is a large pink satin bow which frames the adorable and very full pink tutu at the bottom of the dress.  Under her precious dress, she is wearing pink tights or panty hose, which matches the pink in her dress.  I had these adorable white booties made for her and added pink satin wide ribbon, which I tied large bows on top of each booty.  She truly is a precious doll and a hard one to find with such an adorable face.

My dolls are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough.  My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy.  All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children.  Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, or I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll.  We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor.  My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new.  Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes.  If I've missed something it would never be intentional.

SIZE:

Her custom made booties were made just for her.  The photos really tell the story about this doll.  She is a beautiful doll and one of a kind.  Please view complete set of photos for thorough description.  I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls.  God bless you.  Connie
