Y23 - 1922 AEC Omnibus - Haig Whisky
1:72 Scale -  approx. 10cm length

This bus was built primarily for the London General Omnibus Co. by AEC of Walthamstow, London. It was basically a larger version of the "K" Type (1919-1922). The "S" Type was a goods-coach passenger chassis powered by a J type 4-cylinder 5.1 litre 35hp petrol engine with a three-speed gearbox. The seating capacity was 54, 24 downstairs and 30 upstairs. It was in service from 1922 to 1931.

This beautifully crafted replica by Matchbox is finished in dark brown and cream, with the livery of the Express Omnibus Company, and bearing advertising for Haig Scotch Whisky. It is in its original Type J red box. It is believed to have been manufactured in 1986.

Good used condition. Box has minor age-related wear , but no serious rips or splits. Model itself is clean and near-mint, but the light cream plastic to the stairs and upper deck has darkened in places where it has been exposed to the sun. See photos - all photos show actual item.
