The Athame

This is a gorgeous athame that I've carved from a piece of  Yew wood found near Glastonbury, the Isle of Avalon.

I've given the wood a coat of beeswax polish.

The athame measures about 9.5 inches/24cm long, and as with many of my items is one of a kind.   

Athame's are ritual tools, not intended to be used to cut objects with

Yew is the final tree in the Celtic tree ogham alphabet, associated with transitions and endings. It is poisonous in all its parts if ingested - including the wood - it's fine to handle, hold and work with, but NOT fine to chew on, or allow your pets or children to chew on it.
