Description: Gaspeite was discovered in 1966, and is a rare mineral found in nickel mines. In fact, the presence of Gaspeite is an indicator of nickel nearby. It was first discovered in Canada, though more recently Gaspeite came out of Western Australia. Despite these locations and a few others, all Gaspeite deposits have been depleted, making this mineral very rare.
