An original Victorian Peebles(shire) map.  Main town is Peebles.  137 years old.

Peeblesshire, the County of Peebles or Tweeddale is a historic county of Scotland. Its county town is Peebles, and it borders Midlothian to the north, Selkirkshire to the east, Dumfriesshire to the south, and Lanarkshire to the west.

Print Source: An 1885 Ordnance Gazetteer of Scotland by Francis H Groomes.

Condition: Excellent condition but shows the wear you would expect from an antique Victorian map. As the map was folded in the original publication slight fold marks can be seen but this is little noticed when matted and framed.  The back of the map is blank.  The photos give a good indication of condition. (Will be despatched with the map folded along the original folds).

Size: Map is approx 35 cms x 26 cms including white border (map area 24 cms x 19.3 cms) and is sold unframed and unmatted.  Check orientation of  map from photos.

Please note that this is an original antique map, not a reproduction or modern copy.
