TRAFFIC POLICE HELMET BADGE
Belgrade City, Yugoslavia
(1967-1976)
Description
Yugoslavia (SFRJ) - Josip Broz Tito - Communist Era
Original metal traffic police helmet badge of the city of Belgrade for the summer white uniform and white crest-style custodian helmet, in use from 1967 to 1976.
Apart from the official police designation, Belgrade Traffic Police wore specific markings on the helmet and uniform. At the center of the lower front of the helmet, stood the city coat of arms in gilt sheet (created by painter Đorđe Andrejevic Kun immediately after the war). On the flat part of the helmet crest, coat of arms above was later applied red star of enamel. Character height is 7 cm and 5 cm in width. A buckle on the back says the manufacturer´s name: AURO-METAL Subotica.
Notice
I can't say with 100% certainty that it is an original badge from the era. What is certain is that in this case it is apparently not a classic "replica", because information has been circulating for some time that the new owner (after the sale of the AURO-METAL Subotica factory) cast a certain series of signs and badges on the original molds.
This is also just a rumor and cannot be confirmed with certainty.
