  • Gauge and Materials:  Unlike most crochet patterns, those in this book specify no gauge, no thread requirements, and no hook sizes.  That's because you can vary the size and appearance of each doily to fit the needs of your project. When choosing the thread and hook for your doily, you may wish to do some experimenting with a variety of threads until you achieve the appearance and texture that pleases you. The doilies photographed in this book were all made with bedspread-weight crochet thread (size 10) and a size 6 steel crochet hook. Since you may choose other thread weights, we have included a chart of suggested thread and hook size combinations. Be sure, however, to make swatches with the selected thread and hook until you achieve the look you want. Don't hesitate to change hook sizes until you are pleased with the result.

  • Condition:  Edge and corner wear, a few small light creases, inside clean with no writing, intact and complete.
