From Gustavberg's Argenta line, this little cube-shape vase or cigarette holder from the 1960s was done in their signature mottled turquoise glaze and decorated with overlaid sterling silver. This is the Wasa pattern commemorating the Swedish warship Wasa which was launched in 1628 and sank before clearing the harbor due to engineering problems. The front has the sailing ship outlined in silver, the back has the name and date of the ship, and the top has a line of silver around the mouth.

The bottom has the intact sticker with 1628 WR 1961 which partially covers Gustavsberg, Argenta, Made in Sweden, and an anchor symbol all done in gold. The holder measures 2" x 2" x 2" and weighs 4.4 ounces. Condition is excellent. It would function well as a cache pot or holder.
