Creatine Ethyl Ester can aid in improving athletic performance and increase muscle development in bodybuilding. Creatine Ethyl Ester is a form of creatine that has been attached to a fat soluble ethanol ester. This ethanol ester is commonly added to creatine, through the process of esterification, in order to improve the absorption rate of the creatine, and decrease water retention.
Although there are many types of creatine being sold as supplements, creatine ethyl ester is preferred by many athletes because it can be taken in smaller doses with similar effects. Because creatine ethyl ester can penetrate the cells that form muscle tissue more effectively than other types of creatine supplements, it yields superior muscle-building benefits.
Other forms of creatine are usually taken in what are referred to as cycles. Typically, 20 or more grams of creatine monohydrate or creatine malate is taken each day for four or five days. Bodybuilders and athletes who wish to increase their muscle mass will stop taking these forms of creatine for one or two days and then start another cycle. By contrast, creatine ethyl ester users only take a few grams every day, and they do not usually take any days off in between doses.
