Vintage Korean Traditional Rubber Shoes GoMuShin Colorful 50's ~ 60's "BOK" happiness. Baby shoes probably worn on few occasions only.

These are very nice example of older Gomushin rubber shoes that was very popular post Japanese occupation 1910 ~ 1945. Gomushin first appeared in the early 1900 but were banned by the Japanese during an occupation and became legal in 1946. These shoes replaced GatShin (straw shoes) and gained popularity into an early 1980's.

These pair were probably worn very little or not at all post Korean War. Rubber is pretty soft but you can see some cracking inside of the shoe so handle with care.

The label inside of shoe reads Arirang Daedukfomue (name of rubber manufacturer) and Galmaeki (Brand name) with shoe size and cost of 50 won (about 50 cents). I think these were sold between 1950's to 1960's. Kept in storage for over 50 years.

Age: Post 1950's to 1960's.
