This is an incredibly rare original printing plate for the cover of Jonah Hex #62, published by D.C. Comics in 1982. The plate is a flexible piece of metal which is slightly curved, and measures approximately 13 1/2" by 10 1/2". We have not seen many other cover printing plates through the years, and a classic early 1980's DC plate from the original run of "The Weirdest Western Hero" is particularly rare. Please note that the title lettering, as well as the rest of the imaging is in reverse, since printing plates have the image reversed from how it will look once the final product is printed. The plate looks to be in good overall condition, with general expected staining and handling wear from production use, and some peeling away of the plate image around the edges. There is a slight bend/dent at the top left corner. There is also rusting on the reverse side, mostly at the top and bottom right side, which is fairly common on these types of plates. This is a very cool and rare comic collectible that you will hardly ever get a chance to see. This is a fantastic piece that would look amazing prominently displayed, and would be a key piece in the collection of any JH or comic book fan.
