How to clean the condenser?

  • Unplug ice maker or disconnect power.

  • Remove the two screws in the lower access panel and the two screws from the base grille area of ​​the front panel support.Pull forward to remove the lower access panel.

  • Pull the bottom forward and then pull down to remove the lower access panel.

  • Remove dirt and lint from the condenser fins and the unit compartment with a brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner.

  • Replace the lower access panel using the four screws.

  • Plug in ice maker or reconnect power.

Q3:How long do condenser last?

If properly maintained,your condenser should last somewhere between 8 to 10 years.

Q4:How To Install a Condenser?

1.Locate your A/C condenser.Inspect the condenser for cracks that can lead to leaking.

2.Recover the refrigerant (Discharge the AC system).This will need to be done with a recovery machine.If the Freon has already leaked out you will not need to do this.

3.Remove any grilles,supports,lock braces to gain access to the condenser.

4.Remove the condenser's refrigerant lines.Remove the condenser mounting bolts.Remove the condenser.

5.Install a new condenser making sure any rubber cushions fit properly on the condenser assembly.

6.Pour a small amount of compressor oil into the line fittings.Reconnect the A/C lines.Replace all O-rings.Re-install any parts that were removed in order to gain access to the condenser.

7.Evacuate all remaining refrigerant using a specific AC machine that pulls a vacuum on the system.Hold the vacuum for 10 minutes to check for leaks.

8.Recharge the A/C system with the recommended type and amount of refrigerant.Each vehicle takes a different amount of refrigerant.

9.Test A/C system by measuring the temperature coming out of vents inside the vehicle.
