I don't know whether to describe this Antique Letter Box / Door Knocker as Arts & Crafts or Art Nouveau so please study the images & do your own research.

A great piece of Period Door Architecture which requires a little restoration.

Both the back plate & box have a loverly shape.  The "Letter" letters on the flap are a little worn where people's fingers have knocked against it over the years. A nice piece of Architectural Art.

In expected used condition for a item of this age & nature. The  spring is just a piece of wire that doesn't act as a spring. However gravity closes the flap. It does really require a new rod & spring so that strong wind doesn't cause it to open & flap. Both threads really require replacing too. There are odd paint splashes so the brass would benefit from a little polish. There's also a hole in one corner which I have no idea what it is for.

Approx 7 1/2" wide.

This is fresh to the market & items like this don't come up for sale that often.
