Ingrid Bergman -1940- 13 Page Signed Selznick Agreement Relating to "Intermezzo"

Original & Vintage 13-page Contract, on rice paper. A highly detailed multi-page addition to an agreement dated July 16th, 1940. 

This is an amendment to Ms. Bergman’s original February 1939 U.S. contract with SELZNICK INTERNATIONAL PICTURES.

The contract lays out her compensation for the term of the agreement and when she would be allowed to travel back to her home country of Sweden. This is an important agreement in Bergman’s career. In 1939 David O. Selznick brought Ingrid over to the US for her Hollywood debut in Intermezzo. Intermezzo was an English-speaking remake of the Swedish version of the film of the same title, in which Bergman had her first Swedish lead role. 

The agreement is signed, in black fountain pen, on page 13 by Ingrid Bergman. Also signed by Selznick International Pictures Company Vice President, Daniel T. O'Shea. 

The agreement has been corrected and initialed on page 5 by Bergman (using just an upper-case "B") and O'Shea. Comes with a modern 8x10 print of a ""Casablanca"" publicity photo.

With a career spanning five decades, Bergman is often regarded as one of the most influential screen figures in cinematic history. She is one of only four actresses to have received at least three acting Academy Awards (only Katharine Hepburn has four). In 1999, the American Film Institute recognized Bergman as the fourth greatest female screen legend of Classic Hollywood Cinema
