This is a very rare Proof copy of The Complete Peanuts 1950-1952 by Charles M. Schultz, published by Fantagraphics Books. This is the first volume in the ambitious project set to collect every single strip from the legendary 50 year run of what many regard as the greatest newspaper comic strip in American history. Volume One showcases the early genesis of the Peanuts strip. Starting from the very beginning, and presenting the entire run in chronological order, including dailies and Sundays, this is simply a must-have item for any Peanuts fan. This special rare proof copy is a softcover, as opposed to the standard release hardcover books, and measures approximately 8 1/4" by 6 1/2". The book is 330 pages, and includes a nearly 30 page interview with Charles M. Schulz (legendary writer and artist of the Peanuts strip, and creator of Snoopy, Charly Brown, Woodstock, Linus, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Pigpen, Schroeder, Marcie, Sally, Franklin, Rerun, etc.). The book is in very good overall condition, with some general surface wear, as there is some peeling/bubbling of the top layer along the right side edge of the front cover, and a 1" crease line near the top left side of the front cover. There is also a light 1" diagonal crease line at the top left corner of the back cover. There are also some small scuff stain markings on the top of the book page edges in a couple places if you hold the book closed and look at the top edge. This is a fantastic book that would be a key piece of any collection for a fan of the strip or the Peanuts cartoons, and will provide enjoyment for many years to come.
