These vintage Picture Post magazines are a wonderful resource of news and contemporary thought - giving insight to the news, politics and current affairs of the world. There are articles and lots of pictures, and these 1950s issues are particularly interesting! And the advertisements are great, too.

In this issue:
  • Cover: Belinda Lee
  • Our Plan to Save Football - League Football by Denzil Batchelor
  • Big City Loneliness by Victor Anant, photos by Bert Hardy
  • Fashion: The Lesson from Paris is Drop In At the Draper by Venetia Murray, photos by Savitry [Émile Savitry]
  • Jungle Martyrs - Part 2, American Missionaries in Ecuador, Auca Tribe by Nate Saint - Roger Youderian, Ed McCully, Nate Saint, Jim Elliott and Peter Fleming - Operation Auca
  • Soho - Made in Germany by Robert Muller - The Threepenny Opera - Ewan MacColl - photos by Thurston Hopkins
  • I am Fifteen and I do not want to die by Christine Arnothy, translated by Antonia White - Siege of Budapest

The magazine is large format, measuring appoximately 34cm by 26cm, with 38 pages

Condition: The magazine is in good vintage condition, showing reading wear and some creasing to the covers, plus the staples have rusted, making the pages loose and some staining damage around the staples, there is a newsagents delivery name written on the front cover - visible in the pictures below. Given that the magazine is over 65 years old, its condition is pretty good, but certainly not perfect! The magazine pictured below is the one you will receive.

I accept returns, and if you’d like any further information, just ask!
