Wonderful piece as you would expect from the great Neiger Brothers who created the most sought after and beautiful pieces that are avidly collected today. i have had the brooches from this series but never a necklace.
The flower form centre has an outer layer of exotic shaped petals. The recessed petals are enamelled in lovely shimmering (lightly iridescent) enamels in pale rainbow tones of blue, pink, green, lilac and yellow. At the centre there are gilded calyx petals overlapping each other to enclose a vivid emerald green glass prism. On either side of the central bloom are the easily recognisable flowers with heart shaped petals decorated in iridescent enamels to match the others and with a defined gold rim. The centres are decorated with small green emerald pastes which are held safe in multi claw settings. The whole forms a lovely V shape which is so flattering.
The reverse is gilded and impressed with the detailing which shows through to the front to form the striations in the petals. The necklace is completed with a fine trace chain in brass which fastens with a secure old ring bolt clasp.
App 18.75" long which is an amazing length. The depth is app 39 mm long at centre front. The metal and enamel are in lovely original condition with just a bit of fading brought on by 100 years or so. The enamelling is so often very damaged and condition is everything. The brass is now tarnished in the chain but could be polished carefully if desired. The jump ring is worn in part but works.

A bit about me : i worked for many years in the Antiques Trade specialising first in antique clothing and Textiles and then i specialised in Art Deco and Art Nouveau, generally glass and sculpture and metal ware. i stood at many of the top fairs eg Olympia, Claridges, The Dorchester, The NEC and bought and sold in Sothebys, Christies and Bonhams. i appeared on TV a few times as an Expert, served on Vetting Committees and so on. i gave up the Material World for a number of years whilst i concentrated on Meditation, Healing and other Spiritual endeavours but am now selling on Ebay to pay the rent :-) i really do love the pieces that pass through my hands and i enjoy 'meeting' people across the globe and feel good making them feel good. i try to follow the Reiki precepts ~ one of which is 'To earn an honest living'.
