This coin comes from my personal collection. Some might call it counterstamped, but I think that it is a unique, carefully crafted, one-of-a-kind, Piece of Folk Art that was created on a somewhat better date San Francisco coin "canvas" after it had made the rounds. The wear and patina on the coin works very well with the simple enhancements created by the artisan which complement the coin. It would not have worked nearly as well on an AU or MS background.
