  • CONDITION: LIQUID STAINING - Unused Old Map Store Stock - aging, oxidation, & bio-predation. See all pictures. The dots pink dots are not on the map but are to help point out the stains that are on the map, the stains.
  • When Folded the map measures approximately 10 inches by 9¼ inches.
  • When Un-folded the map measures approximately 40 inches by 28 inches.
  • Map Publisher: Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History (or the map maker predecessor The Dibblee Geological Foundation) and based on a 7.5 minute quadrangle maps of the U.S. Department of the Interior - Geological Survey and with cooperation of the California Department of Mines and Geology.
  • Small Inset Maps courtesy of Channel Islands National Park, US National Park Service (NPS). They are located in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties and sit in the Pacific Ocean of the shoreline of Southern California. Some other Channel Islands are in Los Angeles County. Not all of the Channel Islands are in the National Park.
  • The small index map of the Islands in the ocean show neighboring islands. It only shows the Anacapas, Santa Barbara Island is off this map to the South a long ways. Santa Barbara dot in the index map is the City and not the Island.

  • Unique Pictures of the actual item available in this listing. . There is staining throughout all of the maps, so the map you may received may have stain marks in different locations. The picture of the staining is just the most easiest to see and it is on the exposed section when folded, which is also a top corner.

  • Anacapa Island is sometimes called The Anacapas. The island erosion has created the 3 islets of West, Middle, and East.
  • Santa Barbara Island & Anacapa was formed by volcanic eruptions between 19 and 15 million years ago.
  • Anacapa is also host the largest breeding colony of western gull sea bird in the world.
