Ormsby Hype Gtr 6 Natural Swamp Ash Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have an Ormsby Hype GTR 6 electric guitar in Natural finish. Built in Korea in 2020, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Swamp Ash body with a Laminated Rock Maple neck and 24 fret multiscale Ebony fingerboard. This guitar is equipped with locking tuners, Hipshot string-thru-body bridge, Ormsby Nunchucker A8 Bridge humbucker and a De La Creme A2 Neck humbucker. The pickups are wired to a 3- way toggle switch, master volume and a master tone with push/pull coil split.

The neck sits comfortably in the hand thanks to the ‘D’ shape profile, feeling articulate and fast thanks to the satin finish. The fanned frets are an interesting refinement, the Multi-scale provides more length in the lower strings, and less in the higher. This means there's much more tension in the lower strings, ensuring they retain definition even in drop tunings. Whilst they might look exotic, fanned frets are very easy to adapt to, and some guitarists argue they are actually more comfortable to play.

Amplified, the Hype GTR has a rich, bright tone thanks to its Swamp Ash body with detailed low ends, scooped midrange and pronounced highs. The De La Creme A2 Neck humbucker offers accentuated bottom end, perfect for rounded, smooth and fast lead lines. The middle position provides defined, clear mids. The Nunchucker A8 Bridge humbucker is a metal-oriented pickup with a tight low end for chugging riffs and articulate high end response, great for fast shredding styles of playing. The coil-tap feature adds even more versatility to the instrument providing a great canvas for tonal sculpting.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition, light scratching is visible to all surfaces of the headstock. These marks are only visible under direct lighting at certain angles, and cannot be felt under the finger. This is common with gloss finish guitars.

Neck: Overall excellent condition, all aspects of the neck and fingerboard demonstrate very light markings, difficult to discern from the natural finish.

Body: Overall good condition, the front face demonstrates two moderate indentations, both piercing the finish but not chipping. These are visible when viewing the guitar front on, and can be felt under the finger. The finish appears stable under testing. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching, most notably to the centre of the rear face. On the front facer and side of the top horn, the finish displays marking from glue, this has attempted to be removed but it has come off.

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future work the new owner may wish to perform.
