Hardcover. Condition: Very Good+. 1849. Furne et Cie. 7th Edition. Complete in 4 volumes. French.

This book offers a thorough history of the Crusades with particular attention paid to the role that Rome and the Papal office held with regard to inciting and encouraging the multi-century Holy Wars. Michaud (1767 - 1839) was a French historian and publicist.

The volumes appear in library binding, but with none of the usual library markings save a small paper with writing (pictured) on title page. These seem easy to remove. Otherwise- paper is in extremely good condition, untanned, with minimal to no foxing. Volume 4 has scuffing and mark to front cover, but no other major flaws. On the whole these may be as close to near fine as is possible for books of this age.
