This antique hanging scale was made by John Chatillon & Sons and features a brass face with a 5 lb capacity spring balance. Its rectangular form and US-Northeast origin make it a great addition to any collection. The scale is signed on the rectangular face " JOHN CHATILLON & SONS  NEW YORK" and dates back to the late 1800s, making it an original piece of history. The material used is a metal casing and spring works with a brass face. The brass face measures 6-5/8" x 6-1/8".  It measures 13" overall when hung.  It is in working order and shows only age appropriate surface wear, as shown in the photos.  There are NO breaks, NO repairs and NO replacements.
