A masterpiece of Ainu music released in 2003 by the master of the Ainu folk song Upopo and Mukkuri mouth harp.
The title "Upoposanke" means "Let's Sing a Song" in Ainu. Umeko Ando ( 1932-2004 ) is an Ainu musician from Hushikokotan, Obihiro, Hokkaido. Together with OKI from the Oki Dub Ainu Band, who participated in the recording, she sang the Ainu folk song Upopo. The call-and-response structure of many of the songs is performed in an elastic, breathy vocal style with a mantra-like quality. There seems to be a gentle smile on every note and syllable. This music gently touches the heart. Upoposanke" was recorded on a farm in Tokachi in the summer of 2003. Dogs barking, thunder rumbling in the distance, and voices imitating animals can be heard.

OKI is descended from Ainu People and Half Japanese. The Ainu people are the indigenous people around the northern part of the Japanese archipelago, especially in Hokkaido. Ainu folk songs have a very indigenous, spiritual and mysterious harmony. You will be healed by the sound of TONKORI.
Recorded at a sold-out show with a band at Café Oto in London as part of a European tour. The anthology album "TONKORI IN THE MOONLIGHT" covering the 10 years since their debut was released on CD / LP by MAIS UM DISCOS, a UK label that releases by Minyo Crusaders and others, and has received worldwide acclaim. This album will also be released on MAIS UM, and is expected to spread further vibrations to the world. This new work, which features the traditional Ainu emblem on the jacket cover, was just released in mid-October 2023!
