Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster 3-Colour Sunburst 2004 Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster in 3-tone Sunburst. Made in the USA in 2004, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Select Alder body, a 22 fret Maple neck and fingerboard. This instrument is fitted with a two-point synchronized tremolo with stainless steel saddles and  Fender/Schaller Deluxe Staggered Locking tuning machines. The pickups in this guitar are a trio of Samarium Cobalt Noiseless Single-coils wired in a conventional Stratocaster layout, with a 5-way blade pickup selector, master volume, two tone controls and a S-1 switch. 

The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the 'C' profile allowing for easy fretting in any register and lending itself well to a wide variety of styles. The Gloss Maple fingerboard is pleasant to the touch, and with its 9.5” radius offers a nice balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for string bends. Medium jumbo frets enhance vibrato and string bending techniques whilst also providing a rock-solid and smooth playing experience while still giving that conventional Fender feel.

The Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups provide the player with classic Stratocaster sound whilst eliminating the pesky hum created by single coil pickups. The bridge pickup sounds bright and glistening with plenty of spank, power chords sound gritty, whilst also providing soaring lead tones. However, with subtler amp settings the bridge offers a bright, glassy clean tone. The middle pickup sits great with a nice balance of bright trebles and full warm bass, and lends itself well to rhythm tones. The neck pickup is smooth, with a beautiful warm, rounded tone that handles distorted tones well, the S-1 switch helps switch between series and parallel pickup configuration in the middle position for further tonal options.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition, the top side and edges display mild denting, not piercing the finish. These indentations demonstrate very light paint transfer in places. The rear face towards the top edge demonstrates a similar indentation.

Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck presents light indentation, most notably towards the middle section. These are located around the truss rod channel and can only be slightly felt under the thumb in playing position. These marks do not affect the overall playability of the instrument. The fingerboard demonstrates a moderate indentation on the 2nd fret between the B & the G string. This is not felt under the finger in playing position. Some parts of the fingerboard demonstrate very light lateral scratching, visible only at certain angles and not felt under the finger.

Body: Overall very good condition, all aspects of the body present light yet consistent scratching, as is common with high gloss finish. This is most notable to the bottom edge of the rear face, where scratching and scuffing is visible at most angles and can be felt under the finger when scrutinised. There is a small chip to the treble side horn, revealing the wood beneath. This is visible when viewing the guitar front-on.

Condition of Frets:

This guitar has had a fret level and recrown to ensure the best playability. There is moderate material remaining for further fret work.

Electrics:

Full working order. The S-1 Switch has an audible pop when used. This has not been possible to alleviate through contact cleaner and resoldering the contacts.

Case & Accessories:

The case shows moderate signs of use, particularly the inside pocket which demonstrates separation of the felt lining. Tremolo arm included. Truss rod tool (1/8" hex) not included.
