Peterson's Ladies National Magazine, June 1864, Vol. XLV, Fashion, Philadelphia

Here up for sale is Charles J. Peterson's Ladies National magazine from June 1864, Vol. XLV, softbound.  It has 30 mostly fiction articles and about ten pages of illustrations of fashion dresses of that era.  Also includes a music composition titled My Barque on the Deep, Deep Sea by W.P. Cunnington, some poetry, and recipes including one for stewing eels and other fish, making strawberry jam and orange wine, some articles on crocheting, and more. Back cover has an ad for Illinois farmland for as little as $8.00 per acre.  Condition of magazine is rough, with numerous tears, wear, and folded pages throughout, spine damage, and needs to be handled carefully to avoid further damage.  Nice early Lincoln era edition though.
