Listing is for NEW in box - Exoto 1:18 1966 LeMans 24 Hour GT40 MK II #8 - driven by John Whitmore & Frank Gardner for Alan Mann Racing (AMR). AMR prepared 3 chassis flown to England for preparation in the 1996 legendary race, due to Shelby having his hands full preparing his own. Hence these chassis bypassed the Ford Advanced Vehicle Department and were never stamped wiht GT40 serial numbers. Instead Mann numbered them - this diecast is the XGT-1 (YELLOW #8). Unfortuantely this car didn't complete the 1966 race and retired early due to a fractured rear brake line, issues with the clutch master cylinder and another oil leak.
This model is new in the box with original double boxes in excellent condition - stored and never displayed like fine wine. GT40 MK II is still afixed to the styrofoam encased in exoto tissue. Model # RLG18047 Retired and difficult to find in NEW Condition. Productive cardboard inserts in diecast have yet to be removed - hence I am not displaying any open doors, hood or truck. Be the first to truly enjoy this special piece of racing history. Item was white glove removed from boxes and photographed for this listing and immediately returned to box and sealed.
